Crafting Stories That Resonate
In the quiet town of Reading, my fascination with film began as a child, enthralled by the tales told through the silver screen in our living room. Those early exposures to classic cinema sparked a fervent desire to understand and create stories that captivate and inspire. As I grew, this passion transformed into a pursuit of filmmaking, leading me to study the craft and hone my skills. Over the years, this dedication has blossomed into an award-winning career, allowing me to bring my visions to life and share them with the world. It's a journey fueled by that initial spark of wonder, driving me to continuously explore the limitless possibilities of storytelling through film.

From Classic Films to Award-Winning Director: Rob Hutt's Journey
Growing up in Reading, Berkshire, my love affair with cinema began in the most magical way possible - through the lens of classic films. My parents and grandparents weren't just showing me movies; they were passing down a legacy of storytelling. From the whimsical adventures of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins to the sophisticated world of James Bond, and yes, even the spine-chilling brilliance of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining - these weren't just films, they were the foundation of my future.
The 1980s and early 90s became my cinematic playground. I vividly remember the excitement of watching Back to the Future III at the cinema, huddling with friends for secretive Terminator viewings, and being absolutely mesmerised by groundbreaking films like Jurassic Park and The Matrix. Each new release added fuel to a growing passion that would eventually become my life's calling.
But passion alone doesn't make a filmmaker. While I knew deep in my heart this was my path, the 'how' remained a mystery. Yet that didn't stop me from seizing every opportunity to create - from making silly videos with friends to that pivotal moment in Sixth Form when I created my first horror movie trailer. That project was the catalyst I needed; it showed me that my dreams needed action. Without hesitation, I left for college to formally study the art of filmmaking.
Post-college, I cut my teeth in television production, gaining invaluable experience that would later inform my own creative ventures. This led to establishing my own video production company, but the storyteller in me yearned for more. In 2023, I took the leap that would change everything - writing, filming, and directing "Time Spent," a short film that would go on to win international awards and cement my place in the industry.
Today, I continue to push the boundaries of storytelling through film, bringing the same wide-eyed wonder I had as a child watching those classic films to every project I undertake. Because at heart, I'm still that kid from Reading, absolutely in love with the magic of cinema.
